Yu-tong Sharp resides in Rancho Palos Verdes, California where she pursues an active career of chamber music, orchestral playing recording and teaching.  She is a member of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra, the Opera Pacific Orchestra as well as performs with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra.  Mrs. Sharp is an active recording musician and has worked on hundreds of Hollywood motion pictures with composers such as, James Horner, John Williams, David Newman, Randy Newman and Alan Selvester.  She was recently featured in the Chinese Daily News regarding her recording and violin career. Moreover, she also maintains a private studio violin class with a select number of students that have won numerous competitions throughout the greater Los Angeles area.  Mrs. Sharp has taught many music festivals in California, Kansas and Nebraska working with students internationally.

Mrs. Sharp grew up in Beijing, China where she received her undergraduate degree from the Central Beijing Conservatory of Music.  After completing her degree she was invited to continue her musical studies with full scholarship to the University of Southern California with Prof. Alice Schoenfeld.
